Obituary of Richard Allen Taylor

On July 18, 2015 God welcomed Richard Allen Taylor home. Born on July 1, 1969 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Ralph C. Taylor and Debbie J. Bowler Taylor. Richard spent most of his life in the local area. He was a graduate of Faith Bible Academy, Class of 1987. He attended the former Practical Bible Training School, now known as Davis College, where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree. Richard started his ministry by teaching at Faith Bible Academy. He continued as a Youth Director at Grace Community Church in Mahwah, NJ. Following his service in New Jersey he was lead to serve as Youth Pastor and Teacher at the Fordsbush Bible Church. Richard then served at Delevan Baptist Church as an Associate Pastor. Throughout the years he was also a substitute teacher for many schools. Mr. Taylor was a member of Faith Bible Church. Richard enjoyed serving his Saviour with his talents of piano playing and singing. He ministered to people of all ages over the years and desired to point them to Christ. He treasured every day the family and friends that God had given to him. His sense of humor brightened many hearts over the years. He enjoyed God's Creation with gardening and hunting. He opened his heart and home to many. Coaching soccer was also a favorite pastime. On May 17, 1997 at the Fordsbush Bible Church, Richard was married to Tammy Hazzard. Together they celebrated over 18 years of marriage. His older brother, Ralph Taylor, Jr. and grandfather, Neal Yager predeceased him. Mr. Taylor is survived by his parents, Ralph and Debbie Taylor of Fort Plain, NY; wife, Tammy L. Taylor; daughter, Kimber Taylor 2 sons, Wyatt Taylor and Charles Taylor, all of Fort Plain, NY; sister, Rebecca and Mark Nearbin of Fort Plain, NY; grandparents, Bob and Betty Yager Manchester of Fort Plain, NY; grandfather, Robert Bowler of Gloversville, NY, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Noon at The Faith Bible Church, 108 Crosby Road, Sprakers, NY 12166 with Pastor Mark Kelly officiating with a reception following at the church. Burial will take place at Freysbush Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
