Miss Lois M. Fettinger, 75 of Moyer St., Canajoharie, NY died on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Mountain Valley Hospice House, Gloversville, NY following a brief illness. Born on January 18, 1934 in the Town of Canajoharie, NY she was the daughter of John Fettinger and Marion Van Wie Fettinger. Miss Fettinger graduated from Canajoharie High School in 1951 and was a graduate of Albany Business College in 1952. She was employed as a secretary for Beech-Nut Manufacturing for over 40 years retiring in the early 1990's. Miss Fettinger was a life time resident of the area. She enjoyed her family and friends and had a great love of cats. She enjoyed traveling, day trips, dining out with her friends and planting flowers. Miss Fettinger was a member of the Reformed Church of Canajoharie. Miss Fettinger was predeceased by her brother, Edward J. Fettinger. She is survived by her 2 nephews: Mark E. & Andrea Fettinger of Johnstown, NY, Eric T. & Leslie Fettinger of Gloversville, NY, one niece Lisa F. & Steve Pezzolla, of Knox, NY. 2 Great nephews: Joseph Pezzolla, Scott Fettinger and 4 Great nieces: Hannah & Emily Fettinger, Destiny Pezzolla and Dana Fettinger. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Canajoharie Falls Cemetery with the Rev. Mirian Barnes of the Reformed Church of Canajoharie conducting the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Ayers Memorial Animal Shelter, Inc. 133 Hilltop Rd., Sprakers, NY 12166.
