Christopher Allen Koch, Jr., 69, of West Street, Fort Plain, New York, died Friday morning, September 4, 2009, at his home. He was born July 11, 1940 in Queens, New York, the son of Christopher A. Koch Sr. and Gabriella Sloane Koch. He graduated from East Springfield School, East Springfield, New York. He was an area resident for over 55 years. Mr. Koch was a telephone technician for Citizens/Frontier for over 30 years. Mr. Koch served in the United States Army from 1958 until September 1964. He was a paratrooper serving in Germany and he earned the Parachutist Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. He attended the Fort Plain Reformed Church and enjoyed outside activities, fishing and hunting. He loved his dog, Laela. On March 16, 1963, he married Carol J. Heroth at the Methodist Church in Johnstown, New York. He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister, Carolyn Knopka. He is survived by his wife, Carol J. Koch of Fort Plain, New York, his sons, Michael Koch and his friend, Margaret McCann of Rochester, New York, John and Pamela Koch of Fort Plain, New York, and Robert and Colleen Koch of Nelliston, New York, his daughters, Sondra and Ed Logan of Canajoharie, New York and Stephanie and Joshua Parkinson of Fort Plain, New York, his grandsons, Steven and Jonathan Koch and Brennen Logan and his granddaughters, Nicole and C.J. Smith, Brittany, Ashley and Chelsea Koch.
