Mr. Thomas A. Ambridge, 77, of Enoch Street, Nelliston, NY died, Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his home following a brief illness. Born on November 16, 1932 in Canajoharie, NY, he was the son of John Ambridge and Ethel (Rhodes) Ambridge. He had been a lifetime area resident. Mr. Ambridge worked for lifesavers for 44 years and then for Richardsons, retiring in 1996. He was of Lutheran faith. Mr. Ambridge enjoyed hunting, socializing with his friends and being with his family. He also had a passion for woodworking. On April 20, 1986, he was married to Maxine J. Trumble. Mr. Ambridge is predeceased by several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Maxine Ambridge of Nelliston, NY, he is also survived by his son, Thomas Ambridge and Laura of St. Johnsville, NY; daughter, Lucinda and Mark Johnson of Dolgeville, NY; step-daughters, Gail and Tony Miles of Cherry Valley, NY, Marie and Danny Baldwin of Cherry Valley, NY; brother, John Ambridge, Jr. and Beverly of Florida; sister, Peggy Miller of California; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
