Mrs. Janet M. Tyler, 73 of State Street, Fort Plain, New York, died, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville following a long illness. Born on July 30, 1936 in Herkimer, NY, she was the daughter of Emile Hurteau and Elizabeth Miller Hurteau. Mrs. Tyler spent most of her life in the local area. Mrs. Tyler was most recently employed by Liberty Enterprises in Amsterdam, NY for over 20 years. She was of Protestant faith. On September 7, 1957 in Paynes Hollow Methodist Church, she was married to Robert H. Tyler, Sr. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2009. She was also predeceased by her parents and all but two of her siblings. Mrs. Tyler is survived by her son, Robert H. Tyler, Jr. and daughter, Peggy S. Tyler both of Fort Plain, NY; grandchildren, Timothy R. Fonda, Jr. of Fort Plain, NY, Lee A. and Brian Mykel Cotton of Fort Plain, John and Mikkie Mykel of Panama City, FL; great-grandchildren, Americus J.L. Cotton, Tyler M. Cotton both of Fort Plain, NY; sister, Joan Drake of Hunnington Beach, CA; brother, Donald Hurteau of Illion, NY; sister-in-laws, Barbara Hurteau of Mohawk, NY, Roberta Young of Richfield Springs, NY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joyce and Roy Tyler of Fort Plain, NY; niece and nephew; Jean and Keith Hurteau of Mohawk, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 10:00am for both Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. and Janet M. Tyler at the Fort Plain Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating.
