Mr. Harold "Pee Wee" Lake, 89, of Churchill Road, Ephratah, New York died Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown, following a brief illness.

Born on December 27, 1932 in St. Johnsville, NY, he was the son of Harold Lake, Sr. and Margaret Patricia Andrews Lake. He had been a resident of Ephratah his entire life.

Mr. Lake worked Construction for Mulligan and Higgins of Gloversville, NY.

Pee Wee enjoyed reading, walking, going to the Caroga Creek Racetrack, watching the foxes in his yard, feeding the birds and squirrels, and hunting.  He was a lifetime member of the Ephratah Rural Fire Department, being active with them for over 50 years.  He enjoyed helping with all the Fire House Dinners and hanging out at Brittany's Diner.

On February 18, 1956 at Salem United Methodist Church in Stone Arabia, Harold was married to Beverly Sweet.

His baby sister, Elizabeth Lake; and sister, Patricia Grup predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly Sweet Lake; children, Randy and Judy Lake, Dawnna Ayres and Bruce, Traci and Frank Frederick, Jolene and Dave Christman; sister, Mary Godemann; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held in Ephratah Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
