Mrs. Judy M. Sitterly, 77, of Washington Street, Fort Plain, New York died Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam. Born on May 13, 1944 in Long Island NY, she was the daughter of Harold Thompson and Maris Hayward Thompson. She was a graduate of Cherry Valley High School and obtained an Associate's Degree in Clerical Studies. Judy worked at Richardson Brands in Canajoharie from 1994 until her retirement in 2011. She also worked for Stewart's for more than 15 years. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading. She was an avid Yankee fan. She loved her cats and her Yorkie Pocket who predeceased her. In 1981 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Rev. Kenneth Dingman, Judy was married to David C. Sitterly. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1993. Judy is survived by her daughters, Angela VanPatten and (Jerry), Janine and Rob Hassick; son, Bobby Sitterly and his wife, Lily Norton; sisters, Gay Fazio, Tana Clare; brother, Ronnie and Michele Thompson; granddaughters, Ashleigh, Danielle; great-grandchildren, Ellyana, Nolan; foster son, John Stowell; Goddaughter, Jessica Kilmartin. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 2:00-4:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY. A graveside service will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Mrs. Judy M. Sitterly to Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Inc., 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
