Mrs. Agnes Julia Davi, 97, of Berthoud Street, Nelliston, New York, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, with her family by her side. Born on February 8, 1913 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Anthony Barretta and Dia Marasa Barretta. Mrs. Davi was educated in the East Frankfort School in Frankfort, NY. She was a resident of the local area all her life. Mrs. Davi was employed as a machine operator at the former Luxuray Knitting Mill in Fort Plain for 31 years, retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain. Mrs. Davi enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking for her family, gardening, watching game shows, playing cards and good old fashion Polka. She also loved to go for drives. On November 3, 1933 in Fort Plain, NY, she was married to Joseph J. Davi. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2000. She was also predeceased by a brothers, Victor Barretta, Louis Barretta and sister, Ann D'Arcangelis. Mrs. Davi is survived by her son, Salvatore V. "Sonny" Davi of St. Johnsville, NY; daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Williams and husband, Larry of Canajoharie, NY; grandchildren, Valerie Thomas and husband, Michael, Vikki Jones and husband, Kenneth, Michele Castro and husband, Ignacio, Kim Young, Tema Joslin; great-grandchildren, Jessica Doorly and husband Michael, Joshua Thomas, Angela Thomas, Lacey Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, Amanda Jones, Emily Young, Gabriella Joslin, Bethany Joslin, Krystyna Petkovsek; great-great-granddaughter, Kaylin Doorly; as well as several nieces and nephews.
