Mr. Michael Robert Stephens, 47, of Fort Plain, New York passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital, following a long battle with MDS, with his wife and mother by his side. Born on February 27, 1973 in South Hampton, NY, he was the son of Robert Stephens and Nancy Dickinson Grachek. He had been a resident of Fort Plain for the past 10 years, previously residing in Long Island, and Florida. He was currently attending Law School. Most recently Mr. Stephens worked as a Delivery Driver for Hill and Marks in Amsterdam. He had also worked as a Stock Broker on Wall Street, leaving that to join the US Army. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mike was an amazing father. He enjoyed fishing, loved his birds and animals, and enjoyed being social. On July 28, 2005 in Montauk, NY, Michael was married to Marie Rachon. His father, Robert Stephens predeceased him. He is survived by his wife, Marie Stephens; daughters, Cheyanne, Marionna, Caitlyn, and Ava Lynn; mother, Nancy Grachek and her husband, Paul; sister, Melissa Stephens and companion, Lorence Morse; aunt, Alice Houseknecht; uncle, Carl and Cathy Dickinson; his best friend since Kindergarten, Bryan Gosman; mother-in-law, Susan Rachon and Doug Palmateer; father-in-law, Ed Rachon, Jr. & Caroline Swartz; as well as several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, June 4th, 2020 from 4:00-7:00PM. In keeping with currently guidelines regarding COVID-19 only 10 people will be allowed in at a time. Social distancing and the use of a face mask is required. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding with this. Burial will take place privately at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
