Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Goldswer passed away peacefully on May 20, 2020 at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam, NY after a long illness. Born on November 6, 1944 in Cobleskill, NY, she was the daughter of Mildred (Cole) Wright and Sidney C. Wright. She was the youngest of 9 children. Martha attended Schoharie Central High School and worked at the Schoharie County Jail and then for many years as Head Cook at Boreali’s Restaurant. She was a beautiful, kind, compassionate woman who loved unconditionally and had great pride for her family. She had so much love to give that she opened her heart and home as a foster parent and child advocate for many years in Schoharie County. She was known as “Mom” to many. She enjoyed cooking, especially around the holidays, and for big weekly family dinners for her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to getting pictures of her grandchildren and their activities and showing them off. Her hobbies besides cooking included painting, coloring, making wreaths, doing crossword puzzles and reading, especially JD Robb books. She loved all kinds of music from Andrea Bocelli to Pitbull. She was the wife of John Karl Goldswer, Sr., former Schoharie County Sheriff, who predeceased her in 1977. She was also predeceased by her parents; son, Jeremiah Goldswer; grandson, John K. Goldwer, III; 3 sisters, Virginia Roberts, Emma Jean Annis, Ruth Skowronski; and 5 brothers, Sidney Wright, Jr., Fred Wright, David Wright, Donald Wright, and William Wright. (Laura) Goldswer of Mauemee, OH, Benjamin C. Goldswer of Summit, NY; 3 daughters, Kathleen J. Guest (Wayne Skowfoe) of Middleburgh, NY; Tina M.
