Obituary of Camilla Abel Sanders

Mrs. Camilla Abel Sanders, 95, formerly of Fort Plain, most recently of Post Avenue, Westbury, NY, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Syosset Hospital, Syosset, NY, following a brief illness. Born on December 21, 1915 in East Stone Arabia, NY, she was the daughter of Jacob Hinkle and Mabel Eaker Hinkle. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. Mrs. Sanders had been a resident of Westbury for the past 7 years, previously residing in Fort Plain. She was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church in Fort Plain. On November 23, 1939 Camilla married Francis Abel. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1986. Camilla married Milford D. Sanders on December 15, 1990. She was predeceased by her second husband on March 30, 2002. She was also predeceased by her brother, Everett Hinkle and step-sons, Stephen M. Sanders and Richard Sanders. Mrs. Sanders is survived by her daughter, Shirley Abel and daughter and son-in-law Lois and Herb Staffa all of Long Island, NY; step-sons, William C. Sanders of VA, Timothy E. Sanders of Canajoharie, NY; step-daughters, Shirley Purdy of St. Johnsville, NY, Barbara Sanders of Tribes Hill, NY, Beth Skottke of Fort Plain, NY; grandsons, Todd Herron of Cloquet, MN, Jason Abel of Lindenhurst, NY; great-grandchildren, Steven Abel, Krystal Abel, Jonathan Abel, Daniel Abel, Lincoln Severson; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; niece, Sylvia Dettmer of Nelliston, NY; nephew, Milton Hinkle of Scotia, NY.
