Obituary of EllaMae Bramer

Mrs. EllaMae Bramer, 70, of Carlisle Road, Canajoharie, New York died, Friday morning, August 19, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. Born on July 8, 1941 in the Town of Root, NY, she was the daughter of Lester Mattice Hotaling and Mary Elizabeth Weidman Hotaling. She was a graduate of Canajoharie Central School, class of 1959 and was a lifetime area resident. Most recently Mrs. Bramer worked at the Tractor Supply Co. in Amsterdam. She also worked for Johnstown Knit in Fort Plain and Johnstown as well as helping with the family Dairy Farm. She attended the Faith Bible Church. Mrs. Bramer enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of her flowers. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. On September 3, 1960 at the Canajoharie Dutch Reformed Church, Front Street, Canajoharie, Ella was married to John A. Bramer. Together they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. She was predeceased by her infant brother, Robert Edward Hotaling and sister-in-law, Cindy Lyker Hotaling. Mrs. Bramer is survived by her husband, John A. Bramer of Town of Root, NY; 3 daughters, Susan & Bill Oevering of Town of Charleston, NY, Deborah & Keith Payne of Memphis, MO, Nancy Bramer & Shane Handy of Town of Charleston, NY; 2 sons, John A. Jr. & Beverly Bramer of Town of Root, NY, Ronald A. & Michele Bramer of Canajoharie, NY; 2 sisters, Janice& Terry Burns of Fultonville, NY, Jane Hotaling of Town of Root, NY; 2 brothers, Lester Hotaling of Wells Bridge, NY, Donald A. Hotaling of Town of Root, NY; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 10:00am at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Pastor Mark Kelly officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday August 22nd from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY.
