Obituary of Leslie Michael Hazzard

Mr. Leslie Michael "Mike" Hazzard, 56, of Huckleberry Lane, Hamilton, Ohio died, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at U.C. University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio with his family by his side. Born on March 15, 1955 in Queens, NY, he was the son of Leslie Hazzard and Shizue Washizu Hazzard. He was a graduate of Fort Plain Central High School, class of 1973. After leaving Fort Plain, Mike then resided in Burleson, Texas and for the past 20 years had been a resident of Hamilton, Ohio. Most recently, Mr. Hazzard, held a management position at Miller/Coors Brewing Company in Trenton, OH, previously working for the company in Fort Worth, TX starting in 1981. He also worked for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for 8 years, following high school graduation. Mike was of Lutheran faith. He loved his Dodge truck and putting on every gadget he could find for it. He took great pleasure in camping, fishing and trips to Herb Phillipsons with his nieces and nephews when home in New York. He was predeceased by his father, Leslie Hazzard on March 16, 2001. Mike is survived by his mother, Shizue "Candy" Hazzard of Fort Plain, NY; son, Travis Aaron Hazzard of OH; long time friend and companion, Cindy Lewis of OH; 3 brothers, James O. and Carrie Hazzard of Delanson, NY, Walter L. and Sharon Hazzard of Fort Plain, NY, Steve K. and Tirzah Hazzard of Fort Plain, NY; sister, Linda and Steve Hudyncia of Fort Plain, NY; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Noon at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, September 14 from 10:00-12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fort Plain Cemetery.
