Obituary of Rosina E. Lieber

Mrs. Rosina Ethel Lieber, 100, formerly of Beck Street, Fort Plain, New York died Monday, December 19, 2011 at St. Johnsville Nursing Home. Born on August 28, 1911 in St. Johnsville, NY, she was the daughter of Lester Gray and Anna Elizabeth Gerber Gray. She was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Lieber was employed as a payroll clerk at Luxuray Mills in Fort Plain, retiring August 15, 1946. Prior to that, she was employed as secretary for John W. Hutchinson Ford Dealership in St. Johnsville and also by Gordon A. Hough, a former attorney in St. Johnsville. She was a member of the Fort Plain Senior Citizens. Mrs. Lieber was of Protestant faith. On November 30, 1933 in Chittenango, NY, Rosina married, Ray Lieber. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1997. She was also predeceased by her sister, Hazel Samuels. Mrs. Lieber is survived by her son, Frederick Lieber of Fort Plain, NY; 2 grandsons, Jonathan Lieber of Fort Plain, NY, Daniel Lieber of Halfmoon, NY; nephew and cousins. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houhgtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Rosina Lieber may be made to the American Lung Association of New York State, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY 12210.
