Buzzy, How nice of you to write. I know you've been in this place, too many times! It doesn't seem real yet, but guess that will change over time. As you said, she's definitely where she's wanted to be for some time, so that's a comfort. I can't imagine that you & Shorty ever needed a look from my mother... :) Thank you again for thinking of me. Norm Jean - I am so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing. She was a wonderful person. My parents so enjoyed her friendship as a neighbor and travels with her to other countries through the years. To Norma Jean and family,
I'm so sorry to hear about your moms passing.She had such an wonderful life. I was privileged to work with Kay the first couple of years at Wheelerille. I was upstairs and she was down. She showed me the ropes and I have used some of what she taught me those first few years in my teaching since. I am still teaching, although I remember thinking when she retired, that I never would get to 31 yrs...I have surpassed it!Your mom loved teaching children and everyone around Wheelerville was inspired by her. Norma Jean,
I am so sorry about Aunt Kay. My heart knows she is now with so many of our family members so dear to our hearts. Tomorrow on Ground Hog day is my mom's birthday and I know she will be up there sharing some good memories of her childhood. That makes my heart happy.
My clearest most memorable thoughts of Aunt Kay were in school. I remember being in class one day and she slapped me for something I didn't do, but Rick Clouthier did. She not only hurt my face, but my feelings too. She later did tell me she was sorry. Funny what we remember so long ago. I also have greater memories too. One thing I am so grateful to her for was for her giving me the pictures from mom and dads wedding at her home in Caroga Lake.
I also enjoyed the times she would come to the nursing home for her doctors visit and I got to see both of you. Even though she couldn't see me well she always new it was me and I could feel her love.
As sad and heartbroken you feel, also feel happiness that she is at peace and that she touched so many peoples lives with joy and happiness.

Norma Jean, I was saddened to read of the passing for Aunt Kay. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. Know that she is now reunited in Heaven with Uncle Wesley and the rest of the family. Great memories of all the times that my dad (Earl Western) brought me up to the house in Caroga Lake, I think the conversations lasted the longest in the driveway as we readied to leave. Memories and stories live on forever.

I am so glad to say Catharine was my friend. A person who was able to always be supportive of others and loved her family with all her heart. I could always see the pride in her eyes when we talked about her children & grandchildren. A very special lady to so many friends and her family. My sympathy to her entire family. Norma Jean, I am so very sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I had the pleasure of working with her at Wheelerville School before she retired. She was a wonderful First Grade Teacher! I learned so much from her which I carried into my 30 years at Wheelerville in the same First Grade. She always gave such good advice and truly cared about everyone especially the little ones. She holds a very special place in the hearts of all of us who were blessed to have her touch our lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Norma Jean - I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. She was a part of my growing up that seems so long ago. I remember coming to your house to hear you play piano and always trying to be on my best behavior.
