Obituary of William L. Cole

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. William L. Cole, 77, of Reid Street, Fort Plain, New York passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home. Born on February 13, 1936 in Fort Plain, NY, he was the son of Leland and Jane Dievendorf Cole. God looked around His garden and saw an empty place. He then looked down from Heaven and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and took you in his care. To make up all you suffered, He wanted you up there. It broke our hearts to see you go, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home. God saw you getting tired; the cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you; and whispered "William Lee Cole, come home with Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, we saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. With loving memory from your family, Daughter, Kelly S. & Jeff Hennings; granddaughter, Katelyn N. Hennings; daughter, Deborah Cole; granddaughter, Corinna; son, Leland Cole; brother, Albert & sister-in-law, Jean Cole; nephews, Jeffrey, Michael and Tony; great-niece, Shayla; great-nephews, Lucas and David. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
