Obituary of John H. Ambridge

Mr. John H. Ambridge, Jr., 72, of State Highway 168, Starkville, New York died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, July 30, 2013 at his home with his family. Born on December 13, 1940 in the Town of Palatine, NY, he was the son of John H. Ambridge, Sr. and Ethel Rhodes Ambridge. He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School and was a lifetime area resident. Mr. Ambridge was a machine operator for Beech-Nut, LifeSavers and Richardson's Brands in Canajoharie working in the gum and candy departments. He was a member of the Little Falls Assembly of God. Mr. Ambridge enjoyed gardening. On June 9, 1962 in Fort Plain, NY, John was married to Beverley A. Hyney. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Mr. Ambridge is predeceased by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Beverley A. Ambridge of Starkville, NY; son, Scott Ambridge and Lori of Waldoboro, ME; 2 daughters, Sheila Ambridge of Ocala, FL, Stacey Hayes and Bill of Ocala, FL; sister, Grace Miller of CA; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00am at The Assembly of God of Little Falls, NY with Pastor Joseph Chamberlin officiating. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. John H. Ambridge, Jr. may be made to the ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter, 890 Seventh North Street, Suite 108, Liverpool, NY 13088.
