Obituary of Daniel R. Miller

Mr. Daniel R. Miller, 49, of RayeLynn Drive, LaGrange, North Carolina died March 30, 2014 at Wayne County Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina following a long illness. Born on May 12, 1964 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of Otto K. Miller and Mary H. Baker Miller. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1983. He had been a resident of North Carolina since 2005, previously residing in Deland, FL from 1988-2005. Mr. Miller was a member of the National Guard, Mountain Division for 6 years, starting out of Gloversville. He was a member of St. John's & St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Canajoharie. Daniel enjoyed woodworking and hunting. He was a self taught mechanic who took great pleasure in working on cars. Mr. Miller is survived by his parents, Otto and Mary Miller of Canajoharie, NY; wife, Linda Staelens Miller of LaGrange, NC; daughter, Rebekah Reed of Tampa, FL; sisters, Amy Miller and Karmen Capece of Canajoharie, NY, Sherry and Patrick Blair of Canajoharie, NY; 1 grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Zachary Labagh officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on April 26 from 10:00-11:00am at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Mr. Daniel R.
