Obituary of Josefa Antonia Torres-Dulibre Weinheimer

Mrs. Josefa Antonia Torres-Dulibre Weinheimer, 73, of High Street, Fort Plain, New York died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at her home following a long illness. Born on June 13, 1940 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Nicomiedres Torres and Marcia Dulibre. She was a graduate of Mayaguez High School in Puerto Rico and attended Herkimer County Community College and Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Mrs. Weinheimer had been a resident of Fort Plain since 1961, living in the Bronx from 1959-1961. Most recently Mrs. Weinheimer was a translator for the Montgomery County Department of Social Services until her retirement in the late 1980s. She had also worked for Beech-Nut an LifeSavers in Canajoharie as a cleaner. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain. On July 4, 1959 at The Cathedral at Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Josefa was married to Richard P. Weinheimer, Sr. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage. Mrs. Weinheimer was an avid gardener. She enjoyed crocheting, music and opera. Her favorite artist was Marco Antonio Muniz. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanna Marie Tibold on August 13, 1993 and 6 brothers, Raul Torres, Francis Torres, Freddy Torres, Tommy Torres, Ismael Torres and Jimmy Torres. Mrs. Weinheimer is survived by her husband, Richard P. Weinheimer, Sr. of Fort Plain, NY; son, Richard P. Weinheimer, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Amsterdam, NY; 7 grandchildren, Emma Weinheimer, Richard A. Weinheimer, Christian Weinheimer, John Weinheimer, William Weinheimer, Charles Weinheimer all of Amsterdam, NY, Ava Tibold of Buffalo, NY; sister, Enaida Castro of Bronx, NY; brother, Osberto Torres of Bronx, NY. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00am at Rural Park (Inghams Mills) Cemetery in Little Falls, NY with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 4:00-7:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
