Obituary of Audrey J. Voght

Mrs. Audrey J. Voght, 87, formerly of Montgomery Street, Canajoharie, New York passed away, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer.

Born on July 25, 1931 in Ames, New York, she was the daughter of Floyd Borst and Gertrude Thoma Borst.  She was a graduate of Canajoharie School, Class of 1948 and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Voght was a receptionist for Niagara Mohawk from 1952-1958, for Dr. Button and Jane Hubschmitt from 1979-1986, and from 1986 until her retirement in 1991 she worked for St. Mary’s Health Center.

She was a past member of St. John’s & St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Canajoharie, NY.

Mrs. Voght was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Organization.  She was a former member of the Canajoharie Women’s Bowling League.

On October 27, 1951 in Sharon Hill, NY, Audrey was married to Willis F. Voght.  He preceded her in death on March 7, 1995.  Her sisters, Clara Finster, Wilma Bundy; and brothers, Melville Borst, Stanley Borst also predeceased her.

Mrs. Voght is survived by her son, David W. Voght; grandson, Jeffrey Voght; granddaughter, Laura Voght Pietromonaco; great-grandsons, Mario and Marcello Pietromonaco; sister, Shirley Sponable; several nieces, nephews.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY.  Burial will take place privately at Slate Hill Cemetery in Sharon Springs, NY.

Contributions in memory of Mrs. Voght may be made to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Inc., 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
