Obituary of Faye Strobel

Mrs. Faye W. Strobel, 73, of Nelliston, New York, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at The St. Johnsville Rehab and Nursing Center.

Born on June 21, 1944 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Charles Wick and Mildred Darrach Wick.  She attended Fort Plain Schools and was a lifetime area resident.

Mrs. Strobel retired from Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, after working there for over 15 years.  Prior to working for Beech-Nut, Faye was a nurse’s aide for Palatine Nursing Home.  She was also the owner and operator of Valley Brook Dog Grooming in Fort Plain, as well as being a mother and homemaker.

She was of Methodist faith.

In 1963 in Fort Plain, NY, Faye was married to Leland Strobel.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 2000.  Her brother, Alquin Wick; grandson, Tai Cody Strobel; and a nephew, Hugh Wick also predeceased her.

Mrs. Strobel is survived by her daughter, Deneen Strobel and her fiancé, Luther Stalter of Cooperstown, NY; sons, Randy Strobel and his wife, Debi of Norwich, NY, Robin Strobel of Fort Plain, NY, Roger Strobel and his wife, Kathy of Gloversville, NY, Rodney Strobel of Nelliston, NY; 17 grandchildren, Desiree, Dustun, Carissa, Dillon, Seth, Jonah, Zachary, Tabetha, Skyler, Kayla, Lacey, Joshua, Brandi, Roger Jr., Genesis, Haley, Kyla; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Beverly Wick; a nephew, Duane; and niece, Debbie.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00pm at The Chapel of Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339 with Pastor David Rose officiating.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
