Mr. Otto K. Miller, 93, of Cunningham Road, Canajoharie, passed away on December 6, 2023 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home.

He was born on July 25, 1930, in Starkville, NY the son of the late Herman and Henritta Ney Miller.  He attended Country School #1 in Charleston, NY.

 He lived his entire life in the local area, and for over 35 years he worked for C. J. Burgess Co, Canajoharie, NY, part of his career was also spent with the Albany Carpenters Union, local #370.

He proudly served in the US Army 11th Airborne, during the Korean War, with the rank of Corporal. A highlight of his military service included being at Camp Desert Rock, Nevada, while they did the atomic bomb test on November 1, 1951.

He was a member of St. John and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Canajoharie, as well as a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the National Association of Atomic Veterans. He will also be remembered for his 90 plus tomato plants, and massive garden.

On June 1, 1963, at the Salem United Methodist Church, Stone Arabia, NY he married Mary H. Baker, together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

He was predeceased by his son, Daniel R. Miller, March 30, 2014, and all his siblings, except his brother William Miller and sister Linda Campbell.

Other survivors include his wife Mary H. Miller; daughter Amy Miller (Karmen Capece) and Sherry Blair; and many nieces and  nephews.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Christian Church Cemetery, Charleston 4-Corners, NY, with military honors, the date and time will be announced.
