Obituary of Dale Ross Fisher

Dale Ross Fisher, 69, of State Highway 163, Fort Plain, NY died on November 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family following a battle with cancer.

Dale was a graduate of Fort Plain High class of 1973. He was known as a jack of all trades, and was good at anything he did, keeping himself self-employed his entire life.

He was a member of the Fort Plain VFW Earl Stock Memorial Post #3275, a member of the Fort Plain American Legion, the Canajoharie Moose, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He also loved being around his dogs, Holly, and Molly.

On August 11, 2007, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fort Plain, he married Catherine Ellerby, who survives.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, a sister Dara Fisher Horning, and a brother Drew Fisher.

Survivors besides his wife include, his sons Jacob Fisher, (Alyssa Clemons), Shaun and his wife Jenna Fisher, and William Jones; brothers Dean Fisher, Darrin Fisher, and Devin Fisher; sisters Diana Slemp and Darcy Rudolph; grandchildren Alexis, Avery, Jaxson, Hailey, and Chase; step granddaughter Deanna Jones; great grandson Zayvien; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00am-12:00 on Tuesday November 21, 2023, at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Inc, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317, with a memorial service following at noon.

The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made in Dale's memory to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital or The Fort Plain American Legion.
