Obituary of Darrin Krutz

Mr. Darrin Krutz, 55, of Route 163, Fort Plain, NY died at home on July 12, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on August 29, 1967, the son of Milton “Milt” Krutz and Betty Waffle, both who predeceased him.

Darrin was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class 1985.  Most recently he had worked as a residential plumber for many years, most recently working for Frame Direct.

Most of his life he lived in the local area.

From 1985-1989 he served in the US Army, earning the rank of E-4.

Everyone who knew him will remember him as a kind and gentle person, who was very talented at building and fixing or doing about anything. He enjoyed backpacking, motorsports, hiking and camping also. He was predeceased on death by his parents, and brothers Brian Krutz and Alan Krutz.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy Allen, brothers Duane and Sue Krutz, Shawn and Anne Krutz; stepmother Barbara Krutz; stepsisters Linda and Scott Bloomquist, Donna and David DeLuca, Julie and John Washburn, and Laurie and Tom Weingart; friend Jeff Schuyler; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00-11:00AM on Tuesday July 18^th, 2023, at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. A funeral will follow at 11:00, with burial taking place at Fort Plain Cemetery following the funeral.
