Obituary of Christopher Morris Lamphere

Mr. Christopher Morris Lamphere passed away   early on the morning of Tuesday August 15th, 2023, with his friends and family surrounding him at his home on Trailer Street, Palatine Bridge.

Chris was born on August 30, 1956, in Little Falls, NY, the son of Morris Lamphere, Jr., and Esther Downes Lamphere.

He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, class of 1975.

Many people will remember him fondly working at many different dairy farms throughout the local area. Most recently and up to his retirement he worked at Fredericks Velvet Acres until 2016.

Chris always tried to get to church on Sundays, even with his work. He was an actively involved member at the Salem United Methodist Church.

His biggest joys came from his family, but he also enjoyed hunting in his spare time.

His parents and longtime girlfriend Jane Ross Herringshaw predeceased him.

Survivors include his daughter Krista Lamphere; son Colin and his wife Nicole Lamphere; brothers Greg and his wife Vanessa Lamphere, and Tim Lamphere (Annette); grandchildren Brandon, Savannah, and Landon; extended family Tracey Jane Peterson, Renee Ross, and Ray Ross II, longtime friend Kevin Rosler as well as many nieces’ nephews and cousins.

The family invites friends and relatives to viewing on Saturday August 19th, 2023, at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317, from 4:00 to 7:00PM.

Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery with his mother privately.
