Obituary of Robert F. Stone

Robert F. Stone Mr. Robert F. Stone, 91, of Old Sharon Road, Canajoharie, New York died, Friday, August 12, 2016 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born on December 1, 1924, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl B. Stone. He was a graduate of Hartwick College, Class of 1963, with a degree in education. He had been a resident of the Johnstown area for 17 years, and of the Canajoharie area for the past 15 years. Mr. Stone taught for Stratford School for 17 years. He was a preseller for Portraits International along with his companion, Imelda for over 15 years, specializing in Sepia and Color Photos. Robert was a veteran of World War II, serving in both the Marines and the Navy, as a medic in Guam. He was of Methodist faith. His wife, Marie Stone and his sister, Sandy Shabot predeceased him. Mr. Stone is survived by his companion and friend of over 17 years, Imelda; as well as several step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Stillwater Union Cemetery with full military honors provided by the US Marine Corp. Contributions in memory of Mr. Robert F.
