Obituary of Kathleen E. Suits

Mrs. Kathleen E. Collins Suits, 89, died Tuesday evening, April 1, 2008 at St. Lukes Memorial Hospital in New Hartford, New York. She was born on August 7, 1918 in the Town of Little Falls, the daughter of Harold Lewis Collins and Hattie Mae Hoffman. She is remembered as the eldest of eleven children, for her devotion to her family, and her tireless, industrious nature. Kathleen attended schools in Dolgeville, Utica, and graduated in 1938 from Owen D. Young Central School. During her life she held various jobs, but spent most of her adult life working for the Luxuray, Johnstown Knit, in Fort Plain from 1939 until 1986. She was married to James Clark Suits on October 12, 1940. He predeceased her on April 14, 2001. Kathleen was also predeceased by a sister, Cecelia Davy; and two brothers Harold and Chester Collins. Kathleen is survived by a daughter, Kathleen and Robert Smith of Starkville, NY; two grandsons and their wives, Wade Smith and Daedre Levine of Sydney , Australia, Aaron Smith and Lisa Rhodes of Chicago, IL; and three very special great-granddaughters, Libby and Georgia in Sydney, and Stella in Chicago. She is also survived by her brothers, Leland and Liz Collins of Jordanville, NY, Robert Collins and his companion Brittie Yule of Mohawk, NY, and James Collins of Richfield Springs, NY; her sisters, Marion Fleckenstein, Dorothea and Arthur Chace all of Syracuse, NY, Veronica and Herb Ingles of Minoa, NY, and Ella and Alfred Light of Plattsburgh, NY. The family would like to offer sincerest thanks to the many friends and family who visited Kathleen during her stay at the Folts Home. Special gratitude is extended to these medical service providers and their staffs; Second Floor of the Folts Home, Faxon-St. Luke's Dialysis Sites; and Doctors, Perlanski, Wassel, Kashtanova, Carrillo, Soults, O. Wadhera, Kodsy and Varma.
