Obituary of Michael R. Vigilone

Michael Robert Vigilone, 59, of Willett Street, Fort Plain, New York, died Sunday, April 13 ,2008 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown following a long battle with cancer. Born on March 20, 1949 in Newburgh, NY, he was the son of Michael A. Vigilone, who survives, and Eleanor Thorpe, who is deceased. Mr. Vigilone was a wholesale Antique Dealer in Fort Plain and also was the owner and operator of Main Street Jewelers in Liberty, NY with his wife. Michael had been a resident of Fort Plain since 2005, previously residing in Liberty, NY. He enjoyed fishing and going to casinos. He loved cars and opened his arms to anyone who needed his help. Michael loved spending time with his family and friends. Michael married Arlene Rossillo, who still survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Christina Hendee of Schenectady, NY; three sons, Michael D. Vigilone of Troy, NY, Christopher M. Vigilone and his wife Tobi of Liberty, NY, and Thomas J. Vigilone of Fort Plain, NY. He is also survived by a step-daughter, Mercedes and her husband Josh Little of South Carolina, a "brother" Benny Deeb of Gainsvoort, NY; two grandsons, Jonathan Wilson of Liberty, NY, Devin Little of South Carolina; one grandson who is expected in May, that Michael fought his illness to be able to see; and many friends and extended relatives.
