Mrs. Bernice Glenn, 86, formerly of Clinton Avenue, Fort Plain, New York, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on June 5, 1921 in Fonda, NY. Bernice was a graduate of Fonda High School and continued her education at Brenau College in Gainesville, GA. She spent most of her life in Fort Plain and summered in Caroga Lake. In her later years she divided her time between Caroga Lake and Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. "Gram" was the reigning champion in the family card games, with the championship title being retired with her passing. Bernice was married on March 1, 1943 to Dr. George W. Glenn, who preceded her in death on August 25, 1995. Mrs. Glenn is survived by three daughters, Sharon Merkle of Saratoga Springs, NY, Dr. Shauna Zemken of Sprakers, NY, Sharel Kasai of Honolulu, HI; sons, George H. Glenn of Bath, NY, Dr. John L. Glenn of Caroga Lake, NY; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Ave. Cemetery in Fultonville, NY.
