Mr. William Edward Perkins, 87, of West Main Street, Canajoharie, NY died Sunday evening, June 29, 2008 at his home. Born on August 10, 1920 in Salisbury, NY, he was the son of Frederick Perkins and Pearl Radley Perkins. Mr. Perkins was educated at Stratford Central School in Herkimer County. He was most recently employed by M. W. Roosevelt and Son in Palatine Bridge, NY in the Parts Department and previously he was employed by the former Shults Motor Sales in Canajoharie for 34 years. Prior to that, Mr. Perkins worked at Remington Arms in Ilion, NY and Eastern Footwear Shoe Manufacturing in Dolgeville, NY. Mr. Perkins was a Veteran of WWII serving as a Corporal in the U.S. Army with the Medical Detachment 101st Infantry Regiment 26th. He was a member of the Canajoharie United Methodist Church. Mr. Perkins was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #853 in Canajoharie, the VFW Earl Stock Memorial Post #3275 in Fort Plain, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #2695 of Cobleskill. He was also a member of the Canajoharie Senior Citizens. Mr. Perkins is survived by 2 cousins, Alice of Dolgeville, NY and Louise Denno of Stratford, NY.
