Obituary of Mary E. Jordan

Mrs. Mary E. Jordan, 88, of Timmerman Ave., St. Johnsville, New York, died Thursday morning, September 11, 2008 at St. Johnsville Nursing Home. Born on February 3, 1920, she was the daughter of Leland Coppernoll and Nellie Kretser. Mrs. Jordan graduated from Fort Plain High School, class of 1938. She was employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie for over 25 years, until retiring in 1983. She was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Jordan was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Starkville, NY. Mary was a seamstress and a quilt maker. On August 31, 1940, Mary married Richard A. Jordan in Fort Plain. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1996. In addition to her husband, Mary was also predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Morris Young in January 1995. Mrs. Jordan is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Gail Jordan of Fort Plain, NY; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
