Obituary of Clyde E. Nellis

Mr. Clyde E. "Bud" Nellis, 87, of Nellis Street, Nelliston, New York, died Wednesday morning, October 15, 2008 at his home. Born on February 18, 1921 in Nelliston, New York, he was the son of Clyde E. Nellis, Sr. and Grace Cockreill. He attended Nelliston School. Mr. Nellis loved living and working on his dairy farm in Nelliston, NY, his entire life. He was a lifetime resident of Nelliston, NY. Mr. Nellis was of protestant faith. He was a member of numerous hunting and fish and game clubs. Bud was known as a "Tracker" by his coyote hunting buddies. On September 5, 1949 Clyde married Marguerite "Putsy" Snell at the Episcopal Church in Fort Plain. She preceded him in death on October 10, 1984. Mr. Nellis is survived by three sons, Kenneth S. Nellis of Nelliston, NY, Richard A. Nellis and his fiancé Nancy Herting of Nelliston, NY, and Walter E. Nellis and his wife Renee' of Queensbury, NY; daughter, Mary Lou Wagner of Fort Plain, NY; and a sister, Carmeta Nellis Getz of Mayfield, KY. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brock and Mindy Wagner, Kristen and Heather Nellis, Ashley Nellis, Katrina Herting; great-grandchild, Phoebe Wagner-Gallinger, and his best friend Ron and his wife Jane Klump of Van Hornesville, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.
