Obituary of Beatrice M. Evenson

Mrs. Beatrice Evenson, 97, of Lafayette Street, Palatine Bridge, New York, died early Friday morning, January 2, 2009 at the Mountain Valley Hospice House following a brief illness. Born on June 1, 1911 in Avon Lake, OH, she was the daughter of John Frey and Catherine Schnitzler Frey. Mrs. Evenson was a graduate of Avon High School, Class of 1928. She was an area resident since 1977, previously residing in South Plainfield, New Jersey. Mrs. Evenson was a mother and a homemaker. Mrs. Evenson was a communicant of St. Peter's & St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Evenson loved her flower gardens and was a recipient of the yearly award given by the Palatine Garden Club for her flower gardens. She was married on June 5, 1937 in Avon, OH to Elmer Evenson. Mrs. Evenson was predeceased by her parents and her brothers and sisters. In addition to her husband, Mr. Elmer T. Evenson of Palatine Bridge, NY, she is also survived by her son, Mr. William A. Evenson of Palatine Bridge, NY; three grandchildren, Amanda Evenson of Fort Plain, NY, Katie Bottger of Marshville, NY, Sara Evenson of Marshville, NY; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Evenson, Caitlin Wiesenborn of Fort Plain, NY; daughter-in-law, Christine Evenson of Marshville, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
