Robert S. Mace Mr. Robert S. Mace, 72, of Dygert Street, Palatine Bridge, NY died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born on March 14, 1936 in Gilboa, NY, he was the son of Stanley Mace and Gladys Lemon Mace. He was a graduate of Gilboa Central School and Cornell University. He had been a local area resident since 1961, previously residing in the Town of Gilboa. Mr. Mace was the owner and operator of Shirbert Farm from 1961-2004. He won many herd production achievement awards. Mr. Mace was on the Planning Board for the Town of Root. He was a member and elder of Sprakers Reformed Church. He was on the Planning Board for Farm Land Protection. Mr. Mace was on the Board of Directors for Easter AI (known as Genex), Sire Selection committee for Eastern AI, and an Agway Committee member. In 1989 in Sprakers, NY, Mr. Mace was married to Nancy Miller Herron. He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley Bouck. Mr. Mace is survived by his wife, Nancy Mace of Palatine Bridge, NY; a daughter, Polly Parsons and her Fiancé Tony Votaw of Ithaca, NY; a son, Darren Mace and his wife Kate of Harvard, MA; step-children, Vicki Muehleck and her husband Brian of Fort Plain, NY, Thomas Herron, Jr. and his fiancé Debbie of Caroga Lake, NY, Dan Herron and his wife Sheryl of Johnstown, NY; grandchildren, Courtney Herron, Timothy Parsons, Matthew Parsons, Jordan Herron; son-in-law, David Parsons, Groton, NY; brothers, Stewart Mace of Gilboa, NY, Victor Mace of Broome Center, NY, Donald Mace and his wife Rose of Breakabeen, NY; and a sister, Kate Bedford of Stamford, NY.
