Obituary of Gladys J. Holtz

Mrs. Gladys J. Holtz, 91, of McKinley Road, Palatine Bridge, NY passed away on August 27, 2022, at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home.

Born on June 27, 1931, in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of Arthur Homkey and Roseada Cook Homkey. She was a graduate of Fort Plain High School Class of 1949 and was a lifelong area resident. 

Mrs. Holtz worked in the Jar Tapping and Labeling Department at Beech-Nut for over 30 years. She was also a bus driver for Canajoharie School for a short period of time. 

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Fort Plain.

Mrs. Holtz enjoyed playing cards at Arkell.

On February 18, 1950, Gladys was married to Harold J. Holtz. He predeceased her in death on March 5, 1987. Her son, Harold Paul Holtz and daughter Catherine Wilder also predeceased her.

Mrs. Holtz is survived by her 3 daughters; Deborah A. Holtz of Palatine Bridge, Donna L. Holtz of Palatine Bridge, and Nancy E. Holtz (Duane Yost) of Mayfield; 6 grandchildren, Keith and Amy Blakeslee, Matt and Michelle Blakeslee, Christopher and Angie Blakeslee, Ken wilder III and StaceyWilder , Jody and Dan Walsh , Jennifer and David (DJ) Petteys ; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives from   11:00am to 1:00PM on Wednesday August 31, 2022, at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317, with a funeral immediately following at 1:00PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery following.
