Obituary of Marie V. Mowrey

Mrs. Marie V. Mowrey, 94, of Frederick Street and most recently Arkell Hall, Canajoharie, New York died Monday, May 2, 2022, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. Born on March 4, 1928, in Fort Plain, NY, she was the daughter of Oscar Clouthier and Mary Trembley Clouthier. She was a lifelong resident of the local area. Most recently, Mrs. Mowrey was employed with Lee Publications and the Mohawk Valley Pennysaver in Palatine Bridge as a proofreader. She also worked for Comptone, LaSalle Labs and Beech-Nut, all in Canajoharie. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Fort Plain. She enjoyed traveling and flower gardening. On May 3, 1947 at the former St. Peter's & Paul's Catholic Church in Canajoharie, Marie married Kenneth D. Mowrey. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2010. Her brothers, Henry Clouthier, Robert Clouthier and Clayton Clouthier and sister Nancy Costello also predeceased her. Mrs. Mowrey is survived by her 2 sons, David and Bonnie Mowrey of Cazanovia, NY, Frank "Mickey" Mowrey of Canajoharie, NY; daughter, Tina Marie Cook of Cherry Valley, NY; 3 brothers, Richard Clouthier of Canajoharie, NY, Gene Clouthier of Long Island, NY, Oscar Clouthier, Jr. of Canajoharie, NY; 2 sisters, Janet Waner of Palatine Bridge, NY, and Diane Klump of South Carolina; 3 granddaughters, Wendy, Kris, Lindsay; 4 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 6th, 2022 at 2:00PM at Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mrs. Marie V.
