Obituary of Elizabeth Ciani

Mrs. Elizabeth J. Ciani, 74, of Lincoln Ave., Amsterdam, New York died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, following a battle with cancer. Born on April 17, 1947 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Timothy L. Metot, Sr. and Elizabeth Cvetezar Metot. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy of Little Falls, NY and of Herkimer County Community College, where she received an Associate degree to be a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had been a resident of the Amsterdam area since 2000, previously residing in Fort Plain. Most recently Elizabeth worked at Hillcrest Assisted Living Facility in Amsterdam as a LPN. She served on the Board of Elections, until the last election. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Elizabeth loved her family and pets. She was a NASCAR fan, with Matt Kenseth being her favorite driver. She also enjoyed watching the Food Network, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and anything to do with History. Her parents; daughter, Gina Marie Ciani; and beloved cousin, Walt Cvetezar predeceased her. Mrs. Ciani is survived by her son, Michael and his wife, Amanda Ciani; daughter, Anne Ciani; grandsons, Sky and Aidan; special cousin, Basia; sisters-in-law, Cheri and brother-in-law, Michael Ciani, sister-in-law Melodie Ciani; niece, Michelle Ciani; nephews, Geoff Ciani, Jason Ciani; great-nephew, Malachi; beloved cousins, Judy and Jodi Cvetezar. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 6:00PM at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with Pastor Charlie Houle officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on April 13th from 5:00-6:00PM at the funeral home.
