Mrs. Elizabeth I. Mabbett, 93, of Palatine Bridge, New York died Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born on July 13, 1928 in The Town of Minden, NY, she was the daughter of William Luft and Ester March Luft. She attended Nelliston Schools, and continued her schooling in Fort Plain. She was a lifelong resident of the local area. She was a mother and homemaker. Mrs. Mabbett was of Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling with her husband. She also liked going camping and visiting with family. On October 11, 1947 at the bride's home, Elizabeth was married to William H. Mabbett. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2000. Mrs. Mabbett is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hotaling; granddaughter, Stacy and Greg Logan; great-grandchildren, Sierra Logan and Hunter Logan. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Noon at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00-Noon at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery at a later date.
