Mrs. Irene J. Vogle, 83, of Main Street, Fort Plain, New York died Thursday, December 16, 2021 at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam. Born on October 30, 1938 in Mapletown, Canajoharie, NY, she was the daughter of Elden Moore and Bertha Wall Moore. She was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1957 and was a lifetime area resident. Most recently Irene worked for Lexington Day Treatment in Gloversville for 13 years, retiring in 2006. She had also worked for White Mop Wringer Company in Fultonville, NY. Mrs. Vogle attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain. She enjoyed bowling and working on puzzles. Mrs. Vogle loved to read. On July 22, 1989 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Plain, Irene was married to Alton J. Vogle. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2021. Her brother, Gene Moore also predeceased her. Mrs. Vogle is survived by her family, Jack and Tina Douglas, Richard and Bonnie Douglas, Sharlene and Terry Prime, Debra and John Voght, Ronald Douglas and Patricia Przestrzelski, Alton Vogle, Philip Vogle, Richard Vogle, Kathy and Bill Hill, Sherri Vogle, Robert Moore; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday December 21, 2021 at Fort Plain Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Gray-Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center Street, Fort Plain, NY 13339.
