Obituary of Edward Cotton

Mr. Edward J. Cotton, 63, of Wagners Hollow Road, Fort Plain, New York died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at his home. Born on October 2, 1958 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Earl A. Cotton and Beverly Kretser Cotton. He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School, Class of 1976 and was a lifelong area resident. Ed worked at many different places throughout the Mohawk Valley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, and partying. His father, Earl A. Cotton; sister, Debra Warner; and nephews, John Pettengill and Jeremy Cotton predeceased him. Ed is survived by his mother, Beverly Cotton; brothers and sisters, James Cotton, Elizabeth Pettengill, Robert Cotton, Charmaine Dingman, Susan White; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 4:00-7:00PM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Burial will take place privately at Papa Earl's Pines Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mr. Edward J. Cotton may be made to a Charity of one's choice.
