Mrs. Phala Lynn Chatwin, 54, of Polin Road, Fultonville, New York died Thursday, August 26, 2021 at her home, following a 2-year struggle with cancer. Born on July 30, 1967 in Elyria, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert Rish and Glenna Greenwale Rish. She was a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. Phala was a Veterinarian for the Animal Medical Center in Gloversville, NY. She was a Veteran of the US Army serving from 1988-1996, in the Army Intelligence Corps with a specialty in German language. Phala served on Active Duty in Frankfurt Germany and deployed to the Middle East for Operation Desert Storm. She attended Fonda Reformed Church. On July 4, 1992 in Wellington, Ohio Phala was married to Troy D. Chatwin. Phala is survived by her husband, Troy D. Chatwin and daughter, Jordan A. Chatwin of Fultonville, NY; mother, Glenna Rish (husband, Robert Thompson) of Ostrander, OH; sister, Rochelle Davis (husband, Eddie; children, Connor, Sarah, and Lucas) of Ostrander, OH; brother, Jerry Rish of Elyria, OH. A memorial service will be held at the Fonda Reformed Church in Fonda, NY on Wednesday, September 1 at 6:00PM with Pastor Linda Gold officiating. In lieu of flowers, Phala requested donations be made to your local Animal Shelter or the Regional Foodbank of Northeastern New York (https://regionalfoodbank.net).
