Obituary of Wayne D. Nestle

Mr. Wayne D. Nestle, 65, of Wiltse Hill Road, VanHornesville, New York died, Thursday, October 26, 2017, at home, with his loving family surrounding him. Born on January 9, 1952 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Victor and Pauline Nestle. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1970. He furthered his education at Fulton Montgomery Community College. Wayne was a lifelong area resident, settling in VanHornesville in 1973. He was a member of the VanHornesville United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees. Mr. Nestle was a member of the VanHornesville Community Corporation. He enjoyed hunting, motor sports, traveling, and spending time with his family. On June 16, 1973 at the Van Hornesville United Methodist Church, Wayne was married to Bonnie Eckler. Together they celebrated over 44 years of marriage. Mr. Nestle is survived by his wife, Bonnie Eckler Nestle of VanHornesville, NY; sons, Kristopher Dale Nestle and his wife, Alicia of Rochester, NY, Bryan Wayne Nestle and his wife, Krystalea of VanHornesville, NY; brothers, Victor Nestle and his wife, Yvonne of Fort Plain, Gary Nestle and his wife, Nicola of South Carolina; granddaughters, Aurora Evelyn Nestle, Avery Brynn Nestle; as well as several nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Cory Jones officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2:00-5:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in VanHornesville Cemetery.
