Obituary of Jeannette Simpson

Mrs. Jeannette Simpson, 87, formerly of Moyer Street, Canajoharie, New York passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born on April 11, 1933 in Nelliston, NY, she was the daughter of Edward Pickard and Wilma Vivian Nichols Wheeler. She was later adopted by Harold Wheeler, Sr. She was a graduate of Canajoharie Central School, Class of 1950 and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Simpson was a mother and homemaker. On June 2, 1951 in Canajoharie, NY, Jeannette was married to Kenneth D. Simpson. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2019. Her brother, Harold Wheeler, Jr. also predeceased her. Mrs. Simpson is survived by her children, Vicky Weaver of Florida, Thomas (Beth) Simpson of Epworth, Iowa, Lorraine (Michael) Moyer of Phoenix, AZ, Timothy (Bonita) Simpson of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Cathy Swears; 9 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00AM at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
