Obituary of Evelyn Grandy

Mrs. Evelyn A. Grandy, 91, of Maple Avenue, Canajoharie, and previously of West Skyline Drive, Palatine Bridge, New York passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. Born on September 20, 1929 in Esperance, NY, she was the daughter of Percy Tallmadge and Anna Sellick Tallmadge. She attended Fultonville High School. She was a 53 year member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ames, NY. She was very committed to the Church, serving 35 years as Sunday School Teacher. She adored her family, especially her children and grandchildren. On April 5, 1947 at the Johnstown Baptist Church, Evelyn was married to Charles Grandy. Her grandson, Eli Banks predeceased her on June 16, 2003. Mrs. Grandy is survived by her husband of 73 years, Charles Grandy; daughter, Linda and Timothy Tangen; sisters, Margaret Newkirk, Janet Sievert; grandchildren, Nancy and Corey, Timothy and Holly, Charles and Patricia; 14 great-grandchildren; 4-great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 11:00AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ames. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00AM at the Church. Burial will take place in Maple Ave. Cemetery in Fultonville, NY.
