Mrs. Nita P. Bell, 87, of Corbin Hill Road, Sprakers, New York died Saturday, July 11, 2020 at River Ridge Living Facility. Born on January 25, 1933 in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of Clayton Pedrick and Margaret Beck Pedrick. She was a graduate of Johnstown High School and attended Nursing School at Ellis Hospital, then going to New York City. She spent most of her life in the local area.Mrs. Bell was a Registered Nurse, working for Cobleskill Hospital, Johnstown Hospital, Montgomery County Infirmary, Director of Nursing at Well’s House, and in Private Healthcare. She taught in the CNA program at Herkimer County Community College. She also ran “Ike’s Place”, a restaurant and bar in Charleston. She was a member of Christian Church of Charleston-Four-Corners. Mrs. Bell was a member of the Red Hat Society, Duanesburg Senior Citizens, and the Farm Bureau of NYS. She loved camping, spending time in Florida, and being with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On August 22, 1953 at the Reformed Church in Johnstown, Nita was married to Richard C. Bell.  He preceded her in death on November 18, 2001. Her brother, Clayton Pedrick also predeceased her. Mrs. Bell is survived by her 5 sons, Richard J. and Leslie Bell, Randal C. Bell, Clayton “Terry” Bell and Jill Patrick, Steven L. “Bubba” Bell, Alan W. and Lisa Bell; grandchildren, Adrianne Bell and Mike, Aaron Bell and Heather, Randi Bell, Theresa Keeling and Dave, Kristen Bell and Mark, Tyler Bell, Richard A. Bell and Genevieve, Jason Granger and Sabra, Gavin Granger and Amy; great-grandchildren, Avery Granger, Nick Taylor, Clarke Bell, Wyatt Fowler, Emma Keeling, Ryan Keeling, Liam Yager; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 1:00PM at Christian Church Cemetery in Charleston-Four-Corners with Rev. Brett Popp officiating.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Mrs. Nita P. Bell to Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Inc., 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
