Mrs. Glenna Colvin, 82, of State Highway 162, Sprakers, New York passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, with her family by her side. Born on August 26, 1934 in Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of Maurice and Maude Gray. She was a graduate of Rosselville High School in Colonie and had been a local area resident since 1958. Mrs. Colvin retired from Beech-Nut in the early 1990's. She then went to work at the Carriage House. She was of Christian faith. Mrs. Colvin loved her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed Sunday dinners and camping. She also liked to crochet and do needlepoint. On September 17, 1955 in Albany, NY, Glenna was married to Robert Colvin. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2011. Her brothers, Richard and Robert; and sisters, Grace and Gail also predeceased her. Mrs. Colvin is survived by her 5 children, Michael Colvin and Debbie Cotton of Stone Arabia, NY, Diane Salisbury (Joseph) of Canajoharie, NY, Pamela (James) Lathers of Punta Gorda, Florida, Thomas (Paula) Colvin of Fort Plain, NY, Amy Bills of Ballston Spa, NY; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10:00am at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Jane Hubschmit officating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
