Obituary of Donald C. Nestle

Mr. Donald C. Nestle, 86, of Arkell Hall, Montgomery Street, Canajoharie, New York died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born on February 12, 1931 in The Town of Minden, NY, he was the son of Walter Nestle and Florence Sponable Nestle. He attended Fort Plain Schools and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Nestle was an inspector at Remington Arms in Ilion, NY, retiring April 30, 1988. He had also been an inspector for Sperry Rand Corporation in Ilion for 20 years. Mr. Nestle was a member of the Canajoharie Reformed Church. On July 30, 1960 at The Canajoharie Reformed Church, Don was married to Eileen Jones. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2012. His sister, Virginia Trumble; brother, Walter Nestle; and brother-in-law, Henry Jones also predeceased him. Mr. Nestle is survived by his cousin, Suzanne Nestle of Fort Plain, NY, and nieces Terry (Trumble) and Kenneth Walcott of Schenectady, Margaret Christman of Middleburg; nephew, Russell Trumble of Bluffton, IN; and sister-in-law, Jane Jones. Don is also survived by special friends, Amy and Ron Dievendorf and Alex Bleichner. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00AM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mr. Donald C.
