Mrs. Arvilla Mae Spraker, 82, of Mohawk Street, Canajoharie, New York passed away, Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown, following a long illness. Born on June 1, 1937 in Rome, NY, she was the daughter of Raymond Miller and Francis Loveland Miller. She attended Utica Kimble School and had been a resident of the Canajoharie area since 1973. She was employed at Liberty Enterprises in Amsterdam as a Food Inspector, starting in 1988. She was of Protestant faith. On June 10, 1989 in Canajoharie, Arvilla was married to Robert G. Spraker. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2001. Mrs. Spraker is survived by her daughters, Valerie Soto and Angel, Audra Harris and Marc; son, Richard J. Smith, Jr. and Sheila; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00AM at The Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
