Obituary of Jean S. Ingalls

Mrs. Jean S. Ingalls, 77, of Barclay Street, Canajoharie, New York passed away, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, following a brief illness, and surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 7, 1941 in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of Harold J. Schreck and Waldemine Collins Schreck.  She was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and had been a resident of the Canajoharie area since 1971, previously residing in Utica.

Mrs. Ingalls worked for Fort Plain News, Miller’s News, and Great American in Canajoharie and Fonda.

She was of Catholic faith.

Jean enjoyed watching sports, especially Soccer and Basketball.  She was an avid Red Bulls soccer fan and Golden State Warriors fan, she also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

On June 25, 1960 Jean was married to Leon A. Ingalls, Sr.  He preceded her in death on May 1, 2009.  Her brothers, Richard A. Schreck and John “Jack” Schreck also predeceased her.

Mrs. Ingalls is survived by her sons, Leon A. Ingalls, Jr., Harold Ingalls, Robert “R.B.” Ingalls; daughters, Cheryl Klump, Michele Dillenbeck; brothers, Robert Schreck, Ronald Schreck; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
