Obituary of Lawrence Samuel Horning

Mr. Lawrence “Larry” S. Horning, 70, of Oldick Road, Fort Plain, New York passed away Monday, November 4, 2019 at his home.

Born on November 16, 1948 in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of Samuel D. Horning and Linda Yacobucci.  He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School and was a local area resident for most of his life.

Mr. Horning worked for Beech-Nut as a Supervisor until his retirement.  He then worked for Lee Publications as a Printer for many years.

Larry was a veteran of the US Marine Corp., honorably discharged after serving 4 years.

He was of Catholic faith.

Mr. Horning was a member of the Fort Plain Masonic Lodge #433, and the American Legion Post #168 of St. Johnsville.  He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling, golfing, and fishing.

His parents, step-father, Leland Heiser, and his aunts and uncles predeceased him.

Larry is survived by his wife, Joei Horning of Garden City, GA; girlfriend, Brenda Polidori of Fort Plain, NY; daughters, Christine Horning of Fort Plain, Angela Jones of Nevada; sons, Jason Horning and Jarrod Horning both of Fort Plain, NY; sisters, Cindy Yacobucci, Paula Mainer; 8 grandchildren, Shawn, Shawnice, Zoey, Kaleb, Noah, Sedona, Ethan, and Elijah; 3 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Sissy.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Morris J. Edwards American Legion Post #168, 38 West Main Street, St. Johnsville, NY 13452.

Contributions in memory of Mr. Lawrence S. Horning may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program F, 501 St. Jude Place, TN 38105-1905.
